Your Career Success Is Our Goal

We ranked first in the nation in 2022 for employment in “gold-standard” jobs (full-time, long-term bar-pass-required or JD-advantage positions) with a placement rate of over 98%. That’s the third consecutive year that we’ve been in the top ten nationally for employment outcomes.

The reason for our success is simple. We invest heavily in finding our students the job that they want. From the first day you set foot on campus at Texas A&M Law, the experienced lawyers in our Career Services Office will take the time to get to know you and to help you find the job of your dreams—whether it’s with a judge, a prestigious law firm, a government agency, or a public service organization. We cultivate an individual, personalized relationship with each student.

Career Success

Our dedicated career services staff works tirelessly to provide you with the resources that you need for a successful job search—including networking opportunities, an extensive online job bank, on-campus interviews with top employers, job fairs, and multiple networking opportunities. Our approach resulted in 48 (or 27%) of our current 3Ls securing federal judicial clerkships or positions with large law firms, as well as significant increases for the class of 2022 finding employment in government and public interest jobs where they can make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable citizens.

Judicial Clerkships

Federal judicial clerkships are highly competitive and prestigious opportunities to work with judges in a support role, conducting research, drafting opinions and memos, and observing trials and hearings. Over the past two years, Texas A&M Law has placed 20 students in federal judicial clerkships with 12 Aggie law graduates landing a clerkship in 2021, the second most of any Texas law school.

Bar Exam Success

Our systematic approach to academic support and bar passage uses a three-pillar framework: data to inform support and counseling, insights that teach us how to most effectively educate students, and a distinctly personalized approach to student engagement. We teach students how to study, not just what to study, through boot camps and individualized advising. And our approach works. From 2019-2022, our bar passage rate averaged over 91%, which is second among Texas law schools. In 2023, our Texas bar passage rate was 94.63%, which ranks #1 among Texas law schools.

Dedicated Faculty

Texas A&M School of Law’s world-class, dynamic, and engaging faculty, ranked 3rd among top 30 law schools for racial and ethnic diversity, helps make it one of the best places in the nation to learn the law. The backgrounds, experiences, scholarship, and professional expertise of our professors — half of whom are women — are passed down to our students through classroom teaching and interaction, so our graduates emerge ready to tackle real-world legal challenges in diverse settings.

The Aggie Network

A network of over 500,000 former students means that there are Aggie connections all over the world. Known for our character, commitment, and unique Aggie loyalty — not to mention our traditions — being a part of the 12th Man will give you a distinct advantage in your legal career. The Aggie network spans the globe with former students in over 160 countries.

Maximize Outcomes, Minimize Debt

As a public institution, we deliver a world-class legal education while keeping tuition low. When you combine our low tuition, non-resident tuition waivers, and generous scholarships with our #1 ranking in gold-standard employment outcomes — and our status as a top 30 national law school — it is easy to see why Texas A&M Law is an obvious choice for students who care about return on investment.

Tuition & Cost of Attendance

In comparing the cost of Texas A&M to other law schools, be sure to factor in not only the tuition and fees, but all of the non-tuition costs, too (such as loan fees, housing, meals, entertainment, travel, transportation, and after graduation bar prep). Tuition and fees for a nine-month academic year are calculated prior to financial aid/scholarships. Learn more about the true cost of law school.

Scholarships

All admitted JD students are automatically considered for Texas A&M Law merit scholarships. There are also non-merit-based options available to law students including work study and campus employment, tuition waivers, and external scholarship sources.

Practical Learning Opportunities

At Texas A&M School of Law, we believe that hands-on, experiential learning is just as critical to a legal education as scholarship and research. Our commitment to ensuring our students enter the workforce practice-ready is evident in the number of programs and centers that offer opportunities to apply your classroom learning and gain real-world experience.

Experiential Education & Clinics

With more than a dozen options available from civil rights to trademarks and copyrights, there’s something for everyone. Clinic clients include entrepreneurs, nonprofits, government entities, and individuals who have trouble finding legal help elsewhere. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of the law to actual cases, helping real clients.

Legal Analysis, Research and Writing

One of the cornerstones of a legal education is legal analysis, research and writing. Our goal is to teach you to think and write like a lawyer through learning effective research techniques, applying logic, and presenting a well-reasoned argument. Aggie Law students graduate with at least eight credits in LARW and a portfolio of work that will propel you into your career.

Global Programs

Today’s problems require global solutions. Today’s lawyer needs the skills to frame and to shape solutions that draw on all resources regardless of whether they are local or international. In Texas A&M Law’s Global Programs, you can earn academic credit while traveling abroad and working with lawyers and government officials to solve real-world problems in countries like Israel, Ghana, Cambodia, Scotland, and more.

Professionalism & Leadership

The Professionalism & Leadership program provides you a well-rounded education and multi-dimensional experience beyond legal theory and the classroom — skills and values such as integrity, persuasive communication, service to the community, teamwork, ethics, business, and entrepreneurial acumen.

Equal Justice & Pro Bono

The Equal Justice Program facilitates the 30-hour pro bono requirement for Texas A&M Law students. This program will enrich your legal education experience through practicing lawyering skills in a real-world setting; making contacts with potential mentors, employers, and others; and gaining an appreciation for the importance of giving back to the community and improving access to legal services.
