Career Services Designed to Help You Excel

Our individualized approach produces results. We ranked first in the nation in 2022 for employment in “gold-standard” jobs (full-time, long-term bar-pass-required or JD-advantage positions) with a placement rate of over 98%. That’s the third consecutive year that we’ve been in the top ten nationally for employment outcomes.

The reason for our success is simple. We invest heavily in finding our students the job that they want. The experienced lawyers in our Career Services Office will take the time to get to know you and your career aspirations. They cultivate an individual, personalized relationship with each student. For example, you’ll be assigned a career advisor who’ll meet with you regularly to identify your interests and geographic preferences and to develop a job-search plan.

Coming into law school, I expected to be on my own in seeking career opportunities. I could not have been more wrong! From day one, the staff and faculty assisted me in discovering my desired career path. Advisors, professors, and deans—all acknowledged my interest in federal courts and appellate practice and enthusiastically worked with me one-on-one toward my goal of clerking for a judge. From my experience with the Texas Supreme Court, federal district courts to, and private practice litigation — all leading to my post-graduation clerkship at the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals — I know I would not be where I am at the start of my legal career without the support of so many at Texas A&M!

We Can Help You Secure A Judicial Clerkship

Federal judicial clerkships are highly competitive and prestigious opportunities to work with federal judges in a support role, conducting research, drafting opinions and memos, and observing trials and hearings. Over the past two years, Texas A&M Law has placed 20 students in judicial clerkships with 12 Aggie law graduates landing federal judicial clerkships in 2022, the second most of any Texas law school.
